What is Prostate Cancer?

Prostate Cancer ranks third among the top ten cancers in Hong Kong men. According to the 2021 Hong Kong Cancer Registry¹, there were 3,038 new cases of prostate cancer, with the highest incidence in men over 65, posing a significant threat to older individuals. Regular prostate cancer screenings are crucial, as early treatment can greatly enhance survival rates.

Symptoms:

• Difficulty urinating and weak urine flow
• Frequent urination, especially at night
• Lower back pain and bone pain (in advanced stages)
• Hematuria (blood in urine)
   

Diagnostic Options:

• Transperineal MRI-guided prostate biopsy
• Ultrasound-guided prostate biopsy
   

Treatment Options:

• High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU)
• Robotic-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy
• Radiation Therapy
• Hormonal Therapy
