Total Knee Replacement Package for Public Hospital Patients

Charges Include:

• Stay in Standard Room for 5 days 4 nights (starting from date of admission)
• Pre and post-operative nursing care
• Operating Room
• Designated implant charges
• Essential medications, consumables, instruments, equipment and X-ray examination(s) for the specified operation
• Physiotherapy treatment during hospitalization and walking aid
• Inpatient and discharge medications for the specified operation (for 14 days)
• Surgeon, anaesthetist, and ward round Fee
   

Charges Exclude:

• Pre-operative consultation and assessment fees
• Charges for additional operations, medications, investigations, treatments, specialist consultations and sundries not related to the operation package
• Additional charges for treatments, medications and hospitalization arising from chronic illness and its complications after the operation
• Advanced diagnostic imaging examinations such as CT, MRI and bone scan
• Meals, companion bed, special services, or other miscellaneous costs during hospitalization
• Follow-up visits and physiotherapy treatment fees after discharge

This surgical package is designed for patients currently on the Hospital Authority (HA) waiting list for knee replacement surgery. It provides transparent pricing that covers essential operation costs.

Applicable to:

• Patients on the HA orthopaedic knee replacement wait list.
• Valid HA appointment notification or relevant HA documents must be presented for booking.
• Patients must undergo specialist consultation and pre-operative assessment (including ECG, lab tests, and X-ray).
• Surgeon will determine suitability based on pre-operative assessment results; the surgeon and the hospital reserve final decision rights.
• Total package charge must be settled in full upon admission.
• Any unrelated medical issues requiring treatment after admission will incur additional costs, with prior consent obtained.
• No refund for early discharge under any circumstances.
• Medically necessary extensions of hospital stay will be charged according to hospital standards.
   

Not Applicable to:

• Patients with chronic illnesses or co-morbidity diseases (e.g. diabetes mellitus, heart disease, renal disease).
• Patients with severe osteoporosis, significant deformities, or who require complex corrective surgery.
• Patients with high BMI or other factors increasing anaesthetic/surgery risks.
• Insurance claims.
• Other special offers or discounts cannot be combined with this package.
