To determine if clients have suspected urinary retention by measuring post-void residual urine.
Male with age over 40 or having signs and symptoms of urinary tract disease e.g. enlarged Prostate.
Client should empty the bladder prior to taking the scanning. After voiding, client lies on the bed and nursing staff will perform the scan. In the meantime, the residual volume of urine inside bladder will be measured.
