Physiotherapy of joint replacement
Physiotherapy for joint replacement aims to enhance the recovery rate after the replacement surgery, and to optimize the joint function level.
Pre-operative exercise
Deep breathing and ankle exercises to prevent the complication of the surgery such as pneumonia and deep veinous thrombosis.
Post-operative exercise
Sit out on day 1-2 and start standing, walking with aid and various exercises: range of motion exercises, muscles strengthening exercises and activities of daily living training (ADL) as instructed by the physiotherapist.
