The Endoscopy and Day Surgery Centre is conveniently located on the 1st floor of Hospital Medical Centre, with 4 examination rooms (positive and negative pressure ventilation system), offering a relax and quiet environment for the patients. The Centre provides 10 day recovery beds. Centre is equipped with state-of-the-art video endoscopy system. Oesophago-gastro-duodenoscopy (OGD)
Oesophago-gastro-duodenoscopy (OGD) is an examination of the inside of the upper digestive tract by using a flexible video-endoscope which is passed through the mouth into the oesophagus, stomach and duodenum.
Sigmoidoscopy is a procedure that enables the examiner to view the inside of sigmoid colon. This is accomplished by passing a flexible video-endoscope through the anus into the rectum, then advancing slowly to the sigmoid colon.
Colonoscopy is a procedure that enables the examiner to view the inside of the large bowel. This is accomplished by passing a flexible video-endoscope through the anus into the rectum, then advancing slowly through sigmond colon, descending colon, transverse colon, ascending colon and lastly to the caecum.

Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-Pancreatography (ERCP)
ERCP is a procedure which allows the doctor to pass an endoscope (a flexible tube) through your mouth, stomach and duodenum to examine the bile duct and/or pancreas.
Capsule Endoscopy is a procedure involves swallowing a small capsule that is able to transmit the images from the digestive tract wirelessly. The capsule is the size of a large pill which contains a wireless camera. Through the capsule, the doctor can visualize esophagus, stomach, proximal small bowel, and colon directly.
A procedure for diagnosis of any pathological change in urinary bladder, urethra and prostate (in male). Other indications include urethral dilation, clearance of clots in bladder, biopsy of bladder or urethral lesion, insertion/ removal of ureteric stent etc.
Bronchoscopy is a procedure that a thin and flexible endoscope is inserted via the mouth or nose and passed into the trachea and tracheo-bronchial tree for visualization and examination of major airways of the lung.
Endoscopic Ultrasound is a common surgical instrument which combines the functions of endoscopy with ultrasound. It is effective to observe the body’s tissues and structures beneath the surface. The ultrasound probe at the tip of endoscope can be put deep inside the body of patient and approached closely to the suspected lesion, thus it gives an accurate imaging effect than others.
Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD)
Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) is an advanced endoscopic procedure used to remove superficial gastrointestinal neoplasms which not yet infiltrate to the muscle layer. ESD has been applied to esophageal and colorectal neoplasms with favorable short-term results. This procedure consists of three steps which include injecting fluid into the submucosal layer to elevate the lesion, cutting the surrounding mucosa of the lesion and dissecting the submucosa beneath the lesion.
