Cardiology

A variety of diagnostic tests and assessments are available at our clinic:

Resting electrocardiogram (Resting ECG)

It is a simple, non-invasive test used to detect abnormalities of the heart such as arrhythmias and coronary heart disease etc.

Holter electrocardiogram (Holter ECG)

A Holter monitor test is performed to detect abnormalities of the heart (e.g. arrhythmias). The client wears a Holter monitor, a small device which keeps track of the heart rhythm, for one or two days to allow doctors to diagnose the heart’s condition.

Treadmill Stress Test

A procedure for assessing one's heart health status by evaluation of abnormal change in electrocardiography during the stress test. It can reflect the overall physical capacity.

Echocardiogram

Echocardiogram (or known as 'echo') is a type of ultrasound scan used to look at the heart and nearby blood vessels.

Cardiac CT Scan

A cardiac CT scan uses X-rays to view the heart and blood vessels. It is a non-invasive test used to explore the structure of the heart or determine if there is any buildup of calcium in coronary arteries etc.

Clients may be referred to Union Hospital's Heart Centre for invasive diagnostic tests and further management.
