As the city’s population ages, coupled with factors including a westernized lifestyle and smoking at an early age, the risk of developing heart diseases is increasing. However, heart diseases can remain unnoticed in many cases until serious symptoms that could lead to death surface. It is recommended that people with family history of heart diseases, habit of smoking or those with chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol level or diabetes do regular health checks.
