Introduction

The School of Nursing, Union Hospital was established in 2007.  Before its establishment, Union Hospital provided only clinical placement sites for various cohorts of nurse learners (Conversion Programmes) from three local universities (the University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Open University of Hong Kong).  Since the establishment of the School of Nursing, Union Hospital has been a collaborative partner with the Open University of Hong Kong to run the Bachelor of Nursing (General) (Registered Nurse) Programme.

In 2011, the School of Nursing was accredited by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong as a Gazetted Nursing School for Enrolled Nurse Training.  The School first launched its own Diploma in General Nursing (Enrolled Nurse) Programme in November 2011.  The last class of the diploma programme has been completed.

In 2014, the School has stepped up to another milestone with a Higher Diploma in General Nursing (Enrolled Nurse) Programme which has been accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) and the Nursing Council of Hong Kong (NCHK). The Reaccreditation status of this programme has been granted for 4 years from 2017-2021 by the HKCAAVQ in 2016 and 5 years from 2014-2019 by the NCHK in 2014. [more]
