Hearing Aids Fitting Service

Union Audiology Centre offers a range of hearing aids in various models and styles. Our audiologist will tailor-make earmoulds to cater to your specific needs and provide follow-up services to review and optimize the performance of your hearing aid to ensure you have the best possible listening experience.

Step 1: Hearing Assessment

In order to acquire a hearing aid, a comprehensive hearing assessment is required. The hearing test result for hearing aid prescription must be up-to-date (within 6 months). Such result serves as the basis for selecting appropriate hearing aids. It also allows the audiologist to provide realistic estimates of anticipated benefits from hearing aid use.

Based on your hearing test result, your listening preferences, financial and physical considerations, such as the size of your ear canal, you will be suggested of different hearing aid models and styles which are most suitable for your hearing conditions. Since the use of hearing aid is an individual experience, persons with similar hearing losses may experience benefits differently from the same model of hearing aids. After selecting the hearing aid, an impression will be mold to the shape of your ear, so that the shell of the hearing aid or the earmould can be custom-made.

Step 2: Hearing Aid Fitting

When the hearing aid or the earmould is made, the audiologist will fit your hearing aid according to your hearing conditions, and conduct various aided hearing tests, so as to provide you with the required amplification and the most comfortable listening experience. You will then be instructed with the use and care of your hearing aid.

Step 3: Hearing Aid Adjustment

As the aided listening experience may be different with individual living and working experience, you will be suggested to attend follow-up appointments with our Audiologist to adjust your hearing aid to better fit your requirements.
